LANCASTER, S.C. -- Lancaster County authorities say a 6-year-old girl driving a four-wheeler across a state highway was struck by a vehicle and killed.
Coroner Michael Morris said Creigan Steele died at a hospital Sunday afternoon, about an hour after she was hit. It was unclear whether Creigan was wearing a helmet.
Highway Patrol Lance Corporal Bryan McDougald said the girl had been riding the child-sized, gas-powered all-terrain vehicle near S.C. 903, about 12 miles east of Lancaster. Members of her family were behind her on two other four-wheelers.
Troopers say around 2:30 p.m. Creigan stopped, then crossed into traffic and was hit by a car driven by 24-year-old Tiffany Thomas of Lancaster. Investigators estimate Thomas was driving about five miles an hour less than the 55 miles per hour speed limit on her way home from the beach.
Thomas and three children riding with her were not injured. She told Eyewitness News she saw the family sitting on the roadside, but the girl never looked before pulling out in front of her, and she couldn’t stop her car in time.
No one has been charged in the crash.
Creigan Steele would have celebrated her seventh birthday on Thursday.
my gut still feels knotted. me and brady did all we could do. we came up not 2 minutes after the crash had happened and watching the little girl take her last breath was something i wish upon no one. half of her right leg was torn off by the car and her body was right next to the pink camoflauge 4 wheeler. we tried to stop the bleeding, i think she would have made it if it hadnt been 25 minutes before the ambulance even came not to mention lancaster is so far from a hospital no helicopter was within an hour of rescuing her. the little brother wasnt even a year older than the girl and he was in the worst shape. no one else had a cell phone except me, and thank god we pulled up in time because i had a sheet in the back of my car that we hovered on top of Creigan while i sat there and held her head calling out her name trying to regain conscious.
im a wreck still, thank you guys for being here for me with kind words but i dont think ill ever get the picture of out of my head of her.

been out of it the past day or 2 so bad. watched a 6 yr old girl on the side of the road die in my arms after she got hit by a car. i dont think ill ever be the same. i havent slept because i keep on having nightmares, i seriously dont know what to do

it's so hard to see someone that you've had so much feelings for, for so long, and know that now there is no way there could ever be something more between that person and you...
i hid in my car yesterday and cried my eyes out after me and kemo went to teresa's house so he could see Blake. I've been having so much fun down here, makes me wonder if anybody really noticed that I left...
i dont care, i'm in 85 degree weather with the people i havent seen in so long that i would do anything for. i've been high everyday i've been down here, multiple times with the dankest bud. went to a show at sluggos the other night when Total Fuck played, and it was fucking NUTS. Josh got in this babypool while everybody poured chocolate syrup and ice cream and whip cream all over him in his whitey tighties hahahah. today we're going to panama city to see IDS, the red chord, and the agony scene. Kemo told me it should be rowdy, so I guess we'll see.

some things really scare me sometimes, especially looking online to see your old mugshots to laugh at what you looked like back then and how scared you looked and find out that you have a warrant out for your arrest.
fuuuuuuuuuck. sometimes i want to close my eyes and pretend it was all a dream, but in reality I have to fuckin wake up and realize that I just cant let things go and they'll be fine. My lawyer told me he would call me and tell me my next court date but did he ever call? no. i dont know what to do right now...

yeah those are blood spots if you're wondering
didnt hurt too bad, actually started laughing when it got closer to my ear because it tickled.
oh and guess what guys? I'M GOING TO VEGAS APRIL 1ST!
